Garfield District fence mural by Brigitte De Marco

Process and Pricing

The Mural Process

  1. 1. Consultation

We meet at the location to discuss the project and the space requirements. I gather the project details, including colors, concepts, and pricing considerations.

  2. 2. Investment

Once we decide to move forward, I send over a contract with the project specifics, including price and timeline.

  3. 3. Design and Planning

I create a digital mockup of your design based on our conversations, showing what the final product will look like. We can make small changes to the design, gather needed materials and equipment, and set a painting schedule that works for both parties.

  4. 4. The Painting Process

All materials have been gathered, paint has been purchased, and I am ready to begin! I install the mural within the agreed timeline.

Pricing

Pricing a mural is generally based on the following factors:

  • Square footage: how large is the mural?
  • The texture and condition of the wall: is it smooth, or rougher like stucco or brick? Does the wall need repair or priming?
  • Access: will the mural require special equipment like scaffolding or a scissor lift?
  • Level of complexity: does the design include shading, fine detail, or text?

Digital Mockup vs Final Product

Every project gets a digital mockup first, so you see the wall before paint touches it. Here is how closely the finished murals match.
